Hazelnut Snickers Cake

Soft hazelnut sponge, roasted hazelnuts, gooey caramel, and rich chocolate hazelnut buttercream.

This cake has the perfect combination of sweet and nutty flavors, with its crunchy hazelnuts and smooth caramel providing the perfect complement to the rich and indulgent milk chocolate. 

Hazelnut Snickers Cake 

The sponge comes together in just one bowl packed with ground hazelnuts for that nutty creamy flavour. The gooey caramel is made with just three ingredients and is sandwiched between each layer of sponge. Wrapped in a rich Nutella buttercream and finished with a caramel drip topping, this cake is make without eggs and can be made without dairy for the perfect indulgent dessert. 

Tips for making the best sponge:

1. Use buttermilk - due to the acidity, buttermilk helps break down gluten and proteins in cakes to make them more tender. I make a dairy free alternative by adding vinegar to dairy free milk.

2. Don’t overmix - this will cause dense, tough, or deflated cakes

3. Use room temperature ingredients - room tempetature ingredients bond together better, creating a seamless and even texture

4. Weigh your ingredients and follow the exact recipe

5. Don’t overbake or rush!
