Mocha Tres Leches

A super moist chocolate sponge soaked in a coffee triple milk mixture. Covered in velvety whipped coffee cream and a dusting of cocoa powder, this cake has notes of coffee and chocolate throughout. My recipe is egg-free and can be made without dairy, and the best part is, it’s super simple to make.  



Mocha Tres Leches


We start by making the chocolate sponge which comes together in just one bowl, using dairy free yoghurt and buttermilk for that tender moist texture. The espresso milk mixture is made with 3 types of dairy free milk and a shot of espresso which not only adds that coffee flavour but also accentuates the chocolatey flavour of the sponge. Left to soak overnight, the cake is covered in a creamy coffee whip before being finished with a dusting of cocoa powder.
